Tiree Internet Connection Failure

Alan Reid has called for better back-up for islands and other remote communities when internet connections are damaged.

It is now over five weeks since Storm Amy damaged the fibre cable which connects Tiree to the mainland, and the vast majority of islanders are still without a proper internet connection.

Alan Reid says, “An internet connection is vital these days and the Scottish Government must make sure there are back-ups available quickly when a cable link to a remote community is damaged.”
