Alan Reid Urges Holyrood Recall Amid Ferries Crisis
Alan Reid has called for Parliament to be recalled to deal with the SNP’s latest ferries crisis.
Mr Reid pointed to the SNP’s poor record on ferries, illustrated by the latest round of failures which have left eight vessels stranded and communities left without vital services.
The Scottish Parliament can be recalled up until 8th April and Scottish Liberal Democrats believe it must be brought back as soon as possible to question Ministers on what they are doing to clear up this most recent instalment of the ferries fiasco.
Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton and leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey have also demanded that Parliament come back together to get a grip on the situation during a campaign visit to the nearby seat of Strathkelvin and Bearsden.
Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for Argyll and Bute, Alan Reid, said:
“This most recent loss of vital services is further evidence that the SNP doesn’t have the first clue when it comes to running our ferries.
“Individuals, families, and businesses across Argyll and Bute rely on these essential links and they deserve far better than to be let down with this appalling regularity.
“In May, on both ballot papers, voters here have the opportunity to end the chaos by backing the one party with a credible and practical plan to ensure our ferries run properly, the Scottish Liberal Democrats.”
